The shortcut CB is used to copy the entities to the clipboard. The shortcut PB is used to paste those entities as a block into the target drawing. If you want to paste as entities, use the shortcut PBX. When you convert a Windows metafile stored on the Clipboard to AutoCAD format, you may lose some scaling precision. To retain proper scaling, save objects in the original drawing as a block ( WBLOCK ), and then insert them into AutoCAD using INSERT.
Your drawing contains a large number of dense hatches and in trying to save the drawing you may actually run out of memory. Can you eliminate the hatches?
Your drawing is not very efficient either. For example, one hanger consists of 38 objects. Why isn't the hanger a block? I'm sure I could find many more examples of the same thing. All those objects add to the drawing file size.
How much RAM is installed in your computer?
How large is your hard drive? How much free space is left on it?
Your drawing has over 16,000 duplicate objects and almost 7,000 overlapping objects. Not good. Who created the drawing and what program did they use? Was it Microstation by any chance?
I ran an audit on your drawing and it found several blocks with errors that could not be fixed. It also found six other database errors that fortunately could be fixed.
This has to be one of the more messed up drawings I've encountered in a while.
Why does the drawing use an imperial template (decimal inches) but block insertion units are millimeters?

Program Description
This program enables a user to quickly copy a selection of objects to all or selected layouts in a drawing.
Upon calling the program with C2L at the AutoCAD command line, the user is prompted to make a selection of objects residing in the current layout to copy. Following selection, the program calls my List Box function and the user is prompted via a dialog interface (illustrated below) to choose one or more layouts to which the set of objects will be copied.
Alternatively, if the user issues the command syntax C2AL at the AutoCAD command line, every object in the selection is automatically copied to all layouts in the drawing (except the active layout), without the use of the dialog interface.
The program will copy the selected objects using a deep-clone method, ensuring that all information associated with the selected objects is retained.
